Metro Christian Academy

The Story
At a Glance
In 2024, Metro Christian Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma, partnered with Seed Tree Group to launch a hands-on entrepreneurship program designed to transform students from passive learners into confident, capable leaders. Led by teacher Tom Ribaudo, the program centered around a student-run coffee business—Metro MoJoe—where students gained real-world experience and developed purpose-driven leadership skills.
The Big Opportunity
Metro Christian was looking for more than a textbook-based business class—they wanted a program that would connect deeply with students’ sense of purpose and give them true ownership over their learning. After attending Stephen Carter’s Entrepreneurship Symposium, the decision to work with Seed Tree Group became clear.
“We were searching for a program that offered more than theory—something that would give our students real, hands-on business experience grounded in purpose,” shared Tom Ribaudo. “Stephen’s track record is proven—he’s lived out the principles he teaches.”
What resonated most with the team was Seed Tree’s structure and support: regular coaching calls, access to a national network of like-minded educators, and a deeply mission-aligned curriculum. As Tom put it, “It’s not just a curriculum—it’s a community.”
Empowering the School
Metro Christian’s partnership with Seed Tree Group began with a vision and quickly turned into action. With guidance from Stephen Carter and support from Seed Tree’s network, Tom Ribaudo led the implementation of the Foundations of Entrepreneurship course and helped launch Metro MoJoe, a student-led coffee shop.
Students were responsible for every aspect of the business—marketing, finances, customer service, and daily operations—giving them the opportunity to apply entrepreneurial concepts in real-time. Through weekly classes and the day-to-day demands of running a business, students gained a deeper understanding of what it means to lead, create, and serve with purpose.
The Transformation
The shift in student mindset has been the most powerful outcome. What began as a class project quickly evolved into a high-impact leadership opportunity.
As Tom shared, “The most remarkable change has been watching our students shift from passive learners to confident, capable leaders. They’re no longer just learning about business—they’re doing it, and discovering their personal ‘why’ in the process.”
The success of Metro MoJoe and the student engagement it fostered have made entrepreneurship a cornerstone of the school’s educational approach. Metro Christian Academy now has a thriving program that empowers students not only to dream, but to build—and to do so with clarity, collaboration, and Christ-centered values.
